Q1: What is the capacity of the BM1600?

The single BM1600 unit has a capacity of 1600 Wh. It can be freely combined with the B160 battery pack. A maximum of four battery packs can be added to expand the capacity to 8 kWh .

Q2: Can I buy the PPS2400 PRO in Germany without VAT?

According to Article 12 of the Value Added Tax Act (UStG), you can purchase the PPS2400 PRO tax-free, but you must pay a VAT rate of 19% if it is used for commercial purposes.

Q3: How do I know how much electricity I use per day?

Here’s how to calculate your daily electricity consumption:

It is recommended to store as much electricity as possible during the day – excluding your household’s base load consumption:

  1. Calculate the power consumption of devices that run during the day or around the clock, such as refrigerators, routers, and devices in standby mode.
  2. Before going to bed, note the current meter reading and the time. Repeat this process after waking up. The difference between the meter readings divided by the time period determines your household's base load power.
  3. Alternatively, you can use smart plugs. Plug them between the outlet and the appliance to measure the consumption of individual devices. To calculate the base load, add together the consumption of all devices that are continuously running (including those in standby).

Q4: How does the ALLWEI BM1600 system work?

The system prioritizes the use of solar power, followed by the battery and finally the power grid.

First, the solar power is used for household needs, then the battery is charged. Any excess energy is fed into the power grid.

Q5: Does the ALLWEI BM1600 need to be connected to a WiFi network and the Anker app?

Yes, the ALLWEI app is required to adjust the grid feed-in power of the BM1600.

A WiFi connection is required to remotely monitor the status and connect the Shelly Smart Meter and ALLWEI Smart Plugs .

Q6: What happens when my solar battery is fully charged?

Once the BM1600 is fully charged, the excess solar power is used to supply the household (up to 800 W ).

If this unused electricity is not used in the household, it flows into the public grid. This function cannot be deactivated.

Q7: Can I integrate the energy data of the BM1600 into my smart home application such as IoBroker/Home Assistant?

No, the BM1600 is only compatible with the ALLWEI app and not with third-party software.

Q8: Which solar panels are suitable for the BM1600?

The solar panels should have a voltage in the range of 18–100 V and a total current of less than 20 A.

They are connected to the respective MPPT inputs . If multiple solar modules are connected to one MPPT input, they must be connected in parallel .

Q9: Why do my solar panels have the same orientation but different performance on the MPPTs?

This is completely normal, as the power distribution between the MPPTs depends on the conditions of the solar panels and the solar radiation .

For a single MPPT on the BM1600 the maximum power is 800 W .

Q10: Does the balcony photovoltaic system generate electricity even without direct sunlight or on cloudy and rainy days?

As long as the intensity of sunlight reaches a certain level, the PV system will generate electricity.
